Drama Program Scholarships 2017

Awards are made based on the following criteria: 

  1. Completed application form.  
  2. One page statement explaining reasons you should be considered for a scholarship. 
  3. Proof of at least a 2.75 grade average.
  4. Proof of current enrollment in at least 6.0 units.
  5. Proof that you have completed at least 15 units of credit courses at College of Marin (COM).
  6. To be eligible you must be a student in good standing.

The Warren Lefort Scholarship is available throughout the academic year.

Erika Lynn Moseley Memorial Scholarship — $650

This scholarship was established in memory of Erika Lynn Moseley, a young drama student at COM, by her parents. The recipient is selected on the basis of the student’s outstanding potential in the fields of costume design, drama, or voice.

Robin Williams Scholarship  — $2,500

Provided by the family of Robin Williams in his memory, for a student or students to be chosen by the drama faculty.

John McDill Scholarship — $200

In memory of John McDill, this scholarship is awarded to an outstanding COM drama student.

David Dukes Memorial Scholarship — $250

In memory of David Dukes, this scholarship is awarded to an outstanding COM drama student.

Ben and Ruth Smithton Scholarship — $1,000

Established in honor of Ben and Ruth Smithton, there are two scholarships awarded to promising drama students with financial need.

Judy Finklestein One Time Gift — $50

To be awarded to a female technical theatre student who shows promise.

Denise Kirchner Scholarship — $500

Awarded to one or more outstanding technical theatre students in the fall semester.

Ron and Diane Krempetz Scholarship — $500

Awarded to one or more outstanding technical theatre students in the fall semester.

Richard A. Micheli Performing Arts Scholarship — $500

A friend of the college, Mr. Micheli established this scholarship to be awarded to a student participating in a drama production at COM. The award covers the cost of units and fees associated with the drama production. To be awarded to one or two students.

Frederick Thon Memorial Scholarship for Drama — $2,500

This scholarship was established by Louis and Roe Bershad in memory of Frederick Thon, a previous COM drama instructor.

Saunders Scholarship — $500

Awarded to a deserving drama student.

Warren G. Lefort Drama Scholarship

Provides tuition throughout the academic year for drama students participating in a drama production.
