College Chorus and Chamber Singers
Morning Has Broken
Dr. Laura Wiebe, director
College Chorus and Chamber Singers will present a varied, optimistic program celebrating life's journey as reflected in nature and animals. Highlights of the College Chorus set include works by Eric Whitacre (“Seal Lullabye”) and Randall Thompson (“The Road Not Taken”), and a medley from Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods. The Chamber Singers program includes notable works by living and modern English composers: “The Oak” by Becky McGlade, “Morning Has Broken” arranged by Phillip Stopford, and two works from Benjamin Britten’s Five Flower Songs. The ensembles will close with a combined performance of “Imaginary Creatures” by Andrea Ramsey, a delightful set of miniatures on texts by children.
