Behind every work of art lies inspiration; that inspiration can range from nature, to emotions, to events, to many others. On Saturday, November 16th, at 7:30 pm, the College Of Marin’s Golden Gate Brass Band will explore music inspired by the arts - visual, dance, and storytelling. The concert will feature pieces like Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre, based on a French legend, and Peter Warlock’s Capriol Suite, a modern musical setting on six Renaissance dances. Other pieces to be performed are based on visual arts, like Mona Lisa, Sunday in the Park with George, and Debussy’s La Cathédrale Engloutie.
