Come out and enjoy an eclectic evening of traditional and new wild big band jazz music, as the COM Jazz Ensemble performs some engaging mid-century and more recent jazz compositions. On the list includes a couple of very classic jazz swing pieces made popular by Count Basie. Audiences will enjoy another jazz fusion piece by Kris Berg, and maybe even a new piece by Jacob Mann. The program will include the cool piece - Allégresse by Maria Schneider with highly textured orchestrations evoking visual imagery and musical colors. Come check out Opus Four by Charles Mingus, and a newer laid back contemporary orchestration of Harlem Nocturne. To top it all, our fabulous North Bay Vocal Quintet will perform a wonderful Glenn Miller arrangement, originally performed by the Modernaires!
