The music of Jaco Pastorious, a composer widely regarded today as one of the best bassists of all time, incorporated elements of funk, lyrical solos, bass chords, and innovative harmonics. Joining Jaco's songs will be Charles Mingus' GG Train, Fables of Faubus, and Moanin', music from another hard-hitting bassist and composer. Also on the program will be music from the Count Basie Orchestra written by Sammy Nestico as well as pieces of Latin and Fusion music character. Come check out some of the most interesting pieces ever written for Jazz Big Bands!
