Ralph Vaughan Williams: An Oxford Elegy and Serenade to Music
Gabriel Fauré: Requiem in D Minor, Op. 48
Marin Oratorio presents a concert of three powerfully communicative choral-orchestral works on the theme of consolation. The concert will begin with a rare performance of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ An Oxford Elegy, with Marin County actor and voiceover artist Joe Paulino as the narrator. Following that, Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music will be performed, featuring guest soloists Shawnette Sulker, Sara Couden, Michael Orlinsky, and Glen Hall. Finally, the chorus, orchestra, and soloists will perform Gabriel Fauré’s timeless Requiem in memory of this year’s centenary of the composer’s death.
