PAUL SMITH Solo Piano Recital
A BENEFIT concert for CONTEMPORARY OPERA MARIN
Emeritus faculty member Paul Smith presents his annual piano recital to benefit Contemporary Opera Marin. This year’s program consists of the scintillating but seldom heard Sonata Opus 12, No. 4 by Muzio Clementi, Robert Schumann’s fantastical set of imaginary dances, Davidsbündlertänze, Opus 6, as well as Alexander Scriabin’s mystical Fourth Sonata and Sergei Prokofiev’s defiant Sixth Sonata, written in response to the horrors of World War II.
