The Symphonic Wind Ensemble of College of Marin presents the sounds of 20th century America through the lens of the band. Featuring well-known music like Victory at Sea by Richard Rodgers and Chorale and Alleluia by Howard Hanson, we will draw on very different perspectives on the same musical story. Add to that the incredible Looking Upward Suite, a little-known but fascinating (and weird!) concert work in three movements by Sousa, Fantasia for Band by Vittorio Giannini, and also Frank Ticheli's Shenandoah to paint a many splendored portrait of American band music.
