Centennial Festival of Lights
In celebration of College of Marin’s Centennial, our three choruses unite for A Festival of Lights — a luminous evening of powerful choral music. Over 100 singers will come together as a mass choir to perform two stunning centerpiece works by leading contemporary composers: Jake Runestad’s The Lighthouse Keeper (2024) and Ola Gjeilo’s Luminous Night of the Soul. The program continues with a selection of uplifting shorter works, including Schubert’s gorgeous Psalm 23 from soprano/alto chorus and Ständchen for tenor/bass chorus, several tunes by Vocal Jazz 1, and rousing arrangement of Mahalia Jackson’s iconic I’m On My Way. Join us for an unforgettable night honoring light, legacy, and the joy of singing together.
