Schubert’s Ninth Symphony
Musical chairs at the COMSO podium! This year maestro Boyd Jarrell takes up the baton of the College of Marin Symphony Orchestra. Raising the curtain will be Rossini’s sprightly overture to his comic opera La Gazza Ladra (The Thieving Magpie). Respighi revisits Renaissance forms and melodies in his suite of Ancient Airs and Dances.
Then comes the grandeur of our featured work, Schubert’s Symphony No. 9 in C major, The Great.
