Summary:
Defying Gravity artfully interweaves the past with the present and the lives of participants and bystanders, drawing parallels among painter Claude Monet's artistic quest, the zest of the teacher selected to the first civilian astronaut, the perspectives of her grieving daughter, the aspirations of elderly tourists who drive their Winnebago to Florida to watch the space shot and dream of hotels in space. A clever, uplifting fantasy about art, religion, and the outer limits of human possibility.

Summary:
The famous English gentlemen, Mr. Toad of Toad Hall, sees his first motor car and promptly falls uncontrollably in love with motoring, so he buys a car which he then crashes. Another car is bought, followed by another crash and another—and another! For once at the throttle, Toad in his goggles and duster is a man possessed. Soon he is ruled off the road. Then he steals a car. For this he's sent to jail for 20 years. But what happens next??
Excitement, adoration, charm and dash fill this timeless tale which is sure to entertain!
Solito

Summary: In connection with the 2026 COMmon Read selection, Solito by Javier Zamora, Drama students will create an original community-based theatre project centered on migration stories. Given that Javier Zamora’s parents were ESL students at College of Marin during his journey from El Salvador at age nine, this work feels especially meaningful as we approach the College’s Centennial. Students will gather stories from our community, form campus and local partnerships, and explore 100 years of shifting U.S. attitudes and policies around migration—landing squarely in the present moment.
