College of Marin Symphony Orchestra

A college-community partnership, the College of Marin Symphony Orchestra takes on major works of the orchestral literature. The study, rehearsal, and performance of music composed for chamber orchestra and full symphony orchestra from Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and contemporary periods. Fulfills the Major Performing Ensemble requirement for the Associate degree in Music. Participation in public performances is required. Marin Oratorio

Marin Oratorio is the 110-voice community chorus that presents large-scale choral masterpieces from the Renaissance to the present. In collaboration with professional orchestra and guest soloists, this auditioned chorus rehearses, produces, and performs public concerts at an advanced level. For experienced choral singers. Fulfills the Major Performing Ensemble requirement for the Associate degree in Music. Chamber Singers

Chamber Singers is a streamlined vocal ensemble that performs music a cappella. For experienced choral singers. Email Cheryl Ziedrich if interested in auditioning for the group. Participation in public performances is required.  Weekly rehearsals on Tuesday evenings, 7 pm to 10 pm (MUS 183 )

College Chorus

A chorus of mixed voices opens to all students. The rehearsal and performance of choral music of a moderate degree of difficulty. Vocal techniques and musical skills are emphasized. Participation in public performances is required.  Rehearsals on Mondays and Wednesdays 1:40 pm to 3:00 pm (MUS 163).  For more information, contact Jim Stopher.

College of Marin Brass Band

College of Marin Brass Band also known as the Golden Gate Brass Band, COM’s full-sized brass ensemble plays large scale works for the entire ensemble and also chamber music for smaller groups (horn or trombone quartet, brass quintets and sextets, or any other combination).  The brass band performs two full-length concerts per semester and meets on Thursday evenings, 7 pm to 9:30 pm. College of Marin Symphonic Wind Ensemble

Come be a part of the fine American tradition of the symphonic band, an ensemble of wind, brass, and percussion. Fulfills the Major Performing Ensemble requirement for music majors. College of Marin Jazz Ensemble

Play with the big band! Traditional through contemporary standards with opportunities for improvised soloing.  Intermediate-to-advanced performance skills required, as well as live performances with multiple dates at College of Marin and in the community.  Rehearsals on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:30 - 6:00 pm (MUS 177).  For more information, contact Mark Culbertson.
